Birmingham City Council has 50+ new-build properties fitted with Mitsubishi Ecodan Air Source Heat pumps. We have a contract with Willmott Dixon to service and maintain these heat pumps and are currently in the second year of this contract.

When first approached we were told that the tenants didn’t like the units. Home electricity costs were too high and the majority just turned the units off. RHI was sent in to rectify the problem.

On our first visit we serviced the units, performed all necessary remedial actions and set up the units to match each tenant’s requirements. We showed the tenants how the heat pump worked.

Also, in conjunction with Mitsubishi, we provided the tenants with DVDs that meticulously illustrated how the heat pumps operated. With these DVDs Birmingham City Council is now able to provide the information to all its new tenants.

Thanks to correct settings and understanding of how to use the units, tenants reported that their bills had been drastically reduced over the first few months, and they expected similar savings over the months to come.
